Go with Gratitude - Kenya Karimikui AA
Kenya Karimikui AA
Region: Gichugu Division, Kirinyaga
Varieties: SL-28, SL-34, Batian, Ruiru 11
Producers: 500 smallholder members of the Rungeto Farmers’ Cooperative society delivering cherries to the Karimikui Factory.
Like other coffee growing areas in Kenya, Kirinyaga benefits from the rich volcanic terrain and favorable microclimate on the foothills of Mt Kenya. This season’s offering is exemplar of the region. Melon fruit and toffee underscores the Karimikui’s main flavor profile. It’s sweet and easy with a creamy finish. A pleasant level of rhubarb-like acidity gives it some finesse.
